The cherry tree in the orchard has an abundance of cherry's this year and they are all ripe. So this evening Mike was out milking the cow and Leyton, Olivia, Andrew, Maryrose and I..with the help of the D's and the K's picked cherry's. We picked quite a few, but there are still tons more. Now we are making pie's, jam and pasturizing milk. It is so much fun to have a nice big kitchen to do this in. We had all this going on and 6 boys eating pizza and there was still room! We took some over to Grama Jude. I think I will pick her enough for a pie tomorrow. I think she may have been hinting. Tonight at allstar practice both boys were injured..it seems to be happening quite a bit lately..tonight Donnie slid to catch a ball and now has a bloody knee and Michael has what looks like a broken finger...OUCH! We turned in educational posters for the fair today and got all the entry forms done. This year Olivia will take her new horse Willy, Leyton will take his 4 turkeys he has been raising with his dad, and Donnie is going to take his Iguana named Bob Marley....his cousin Van is bringing his Iguana too. Maryrose and Olivia will be entering crafts and sewing projects as well. It should be a lot of fun this year. Over all, lots done today and the best part was that Dad came home at 5pm...not midnight like he has been doing all week (a very sad homicide case). Hey...tomorrow is Saturday...that means Grandbaby and blue eyed smiles!!

Thursday's mean Grandboy

Thursdays (Saturday's too) mean having Little Scoot and his beautiful blue eyes in the house. All the kids, adults too, wake up with a smile looking forward to sharing the day with that sweet, kind, handsome, little boy! Today Michael Joseph was a little quiet, but gave away freely his contagious smiles. He is starting to sit on his own, he is able to do it by himself, but can be a bit tipsy at times. He loves to walk holding fingers and he always heads straight for the dogs. He loves them! We are starting to sign with him and he is starting to really watch the signs. Mike and I taught all the kids baby sign language. They learned very fast and used it for many months before they could talk. Our favo
rite girl baby..Ma'Ma..or Macie Raye..who we share Wednesday's with, and occasionally Thursday's, is 8 months old and we love her like she is one of our own. Her mom, Krista, has taught her and she is signing like crazy. It is so much fun to see her little mind going to work. She, too, loves the dogs. The girls, Livi and Maryrose, say we have 'the two cutest babies on the planet' at our house. We got lucky today and had them both here! They played and talked that secret baby language to each other. It is so good to have babies in the house, and we LOVE these two!!!

Cleaning the barn ~ By Mom

Maryrose (5) and I were out cleaning the barn ...I was sweeping and she was riding her new little pink bike around. I found a penny, handed it to her, and said ...
"Find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you'll have good luck.
"What?" She said.
I repeated "Find a penny, pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck."
With a wrinkled up nose, she reluctantly took the penny and said, "Ahh Mom ...I want dollars!!"
